Venos is the new Vari-Mu analog stereo bus compressor from SPL, designed to give the mix immediate musical cohesion, greater depth, and a rich, controllable analog character, thanks to 120V technology and a newly developed tube section. Every parameter is stepped and shared between the two channels for precise, repeatable control.
Key controls: Input, Threshold, Bias, Attack, and Release. The rectification stage offers three types of diodes (germanium, silicon, LED) that influence the reaction to transients. The Linear, Modern, and Vintage modes work via filters in the sidechain for frequency-selective compression; the Focus and Punch hyper-compression modes directly modify the variable bias compression curve. It features an external sidechain on balanced XLR send/return for control with external EQ or processors.
Proprietary SPL 120V technology for superior headroom and very wide dynamics. Professional gold-plated Neutrik XLR connections, ground lift switches, steel chassis with black anodized aluminum panel. Designed and built in Germany.
