The technology of this sound engine is directly acquired from Studiologic's Numa X Piano series and oversees the production of acoustic piano timbres, using stereo TRS (True Sound) multi-samples. On Numa Compact X SE, the internal PCM database has been completely renewed, with the introduction of new samples of various types of acoustic piano, and further refinement of the reproduction of typical piano phenomena such as string resonances, key releases, and pedal noise; details that enhance the effectiveness of the simulation, allowing the musician greater expressive articulation.

This Numa Compact X SE sound engine simulates, with an original combination of Samples and DSP effects, the physical modeling technology used on Numa X Piano, capable of producing the most typical electric piano categories: "Tine" with tuned bars, and "Reed" with reeds. The system also offers separate control of the "Tine" and Damper noise, which allows for many effective timbral variations, including the characteristic FM digital piano sounds.

An authentic electromagnetic organ model (Tonewheel) has been implemented in this section, through an independent sound engine, with a wide range of timbres that include the most representative organ models of this renowned instrumental category. Determining elements such as Vibrato/Chorus, the Rotary Speaker amplifier, and the percussion have also been completely renewed. Furthermore, thanks to the 9 sliders on the panel, Numa Compact X SE can simulate the typical Drawbar control of the original models, which allows for the characteristic timbral articulation of these instruments with a result of remarkable realism.

This sound engine gives Numa Compact SE true synthesizer performance thanks to virtual oscillators capable of generating a wide variety of waveforms, with an expanded set of parameters including Portamento, Staccato/Legato modes, polyphonic or monophonic articulation, with direct control allowed by the sliders and buttons on the panel, enabling intuitive creation of original synth timbres or simulation of the most classic vintage sounds.
Versatility of Use
The original structure of Numa Compact X SE meets most artists' needs, such as compact dimensions and low weight, ideal factors for musicians on the go; or the advanced sound generator with high-quality, widely customizable sounds and effects, the integrated listening system that allows for autonomous use of the keyboard in conditions such as daily practice, lessons, rehearsals, auditions. Numa Compact X SE can naturally connect to an external PA and be used for concerts, performances, or live events.
Control
The 88 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch allow for precise dynamic control of both internal sounds and any external devices, thanks also to the control enabled by MIDI messages that can be sent from the 9 sliders on the panel in conjunction with the MIDI DIN ports or the USB/Audio interface, allowing Numa Compact X SE to be used as a Master Keyboard even in a recording studio, connecting to DAW environments. The panel also features Pitch and Modulation Sticks, which allow for real-time sound manipulation, while a bright OLED display shows all navigation, selection, or sound modification operations.
