TASCAM MZ-223 is a multi-channel, multi-zone mixer in a compact 2U design that offers versatile multi-zone audio routing, mixing, and muting of different audio sources simultaneously. Source content can include music, speech, turntables, and more, and can be easily controlled via familiar faders and assignment controls on the front panel. Designed for easy integration into virtually any system, TASCAM MZ-223 is ideal for small-format installation applications such as moderately sized hotels, restaurants, conference rooms, schools, or any situation requiring audio with independent routing.
TASCAM MZ-223 allows multiple audio sources to be mixed, muted, and routed to three independent zones or destinations using volume faders and assignment keys. Input signals can be fed through five audio channels, each consisting of two sets of unbalanced stereo RCA pairs. A total of ten sets of RCA-type inputs are provided. Channels one and two can be set to accommodate phono-level signals for use with a turntable. Additionally, conveniently located on the front panel, are two mic-compatible XLR inputs.
The independent three-zone outputs each have a combination of balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA configurations for long runs or connection to common residential amplifiers or speakers. This flexibility, for example, allows music to be routed to zone one, ambient noise or natural sounds to zone two, a separate music track or voice announcement can be routed to zone three, while the convenient "talkover" function will automatically reduce any mixed channel source so that the microphone can be heard while speaking.
Volume faders, routing switches/buttons, EQ knobs, and mute buttons for microphones make the TASCAM MZ-223 simple and quick to use and set up. There is also a master stereo recording output, which can send audio to an external recorder, simplifying event capture. The TASCAM MZ-223 offers simple operation and maximum audio routing flexibility, all in a compact and affordable package.
