The UNIVERSAL AUDIO 710 TWIN FINITY is a radically new preamplifier design that, uniquely, combines the classic, slightly retro warmth of UA's tube designs with the fast transient attack of solid-state processors, all in a 2U half-rack unit with an all-metal chassis. The UNIVERSAL AUDIO 710 TWIN FINITY was specifically created to add the tonal versatility and sonic inspiration missing from the generic preamps found in most audio interfaces.
The key to its tonal flexibility lies in its completely innovative circuit design, featuring a variable-impedance solid-state input amplifier that sends a perfectly phase-aligned signal separately to both the tube gain circuit and the solid-state circuit. The two signals are then summed to a single output. The mix between the tube stage (310-volt single-ended class-A triode tube) and the solid-state stage (solid-state transimpedance) is controlled by the 'Blend Knob' potentiometer, marked '8'.
The blending varies seamlessly, from 100% tube to 100% solid-state, allowing for an almost infinite range of tonal combinations and making it easy to create your own distinctive sonic style.
Like all other UA designs, the UNIVERSAL AUDIO 710 TWIN FINITY features two gain control stages (Gain/Level) that can radically alter the amount of distortion and the quality of tonal coloration, allowing you to increase the input gain like on a guitar amplifier. The VU meter has an exclusive "Drive" mode to visually display the amount of signal sent to the input stage.
This versatility makes the UNIVERSAL AUDIO 710 TWIN FINITY the ideal preamplifier for any microphone.
Additionally, thanks to the discrete JFET DI input circuit, you can easily manage any electric instrument (electric guitars and basses, keyboards, etc.). Guitarists and bassists, in particular, will greatly appreciate the 710's ability to get the best possible sound from both active and passive pickups. The UNIVERSAL AUDIO 710 TWIN FINITY is entirely designed and built in UA's California facilities and comes with a 19" rack adapter for mounting one or two units.
