3-oscillator Synthesizer
WALDORF IRIDIUM is a 3-oscillator synthesizer that brings the powerful Quantum synthesis engine to a compact desktop format.
The combination of the powerful synthesis engine with incredible flexibility and detailed modeling structures offers endless sonic possibilities. In addition, the beautiful, ergonomic, and intuitive control panel allows for quick sound programming.
The robust metal chassis, inspired by the Quantum, makes WALDORF IRIDIUM perfect for conquering studios and stages worldwide.
The three oscillators offer five synthesis algorithms each:
- Waldorf-style Wavetables – Waldorf-style wavetables with implementations found in Nave, including speech synthesis and wavetable generation from audio.
- Classic Synthesizer Waveforms – Classic waveforms with multiple waves for an ultra-fat sound.
- Granular Sampler – Granular sampler with multi-sample and traditional sampling.
- Resonator – For virtual sound sculpting.
- Kernel – The kernel mode was introduced with Quantum OS 2.0.
This massive update allows one oscillator to be transformed into up to six sub-oscillators.
WALDORF IRIDIUM can store up to 7000 patches, and sounds created for Quantum can be loaded into Iridium and vice-versa.
WALDORF IRIDIUM features three digital filters per voice, two in the Dual Filter section and another in Digital Former, each with Lowpass/Highpass/Bandpass filters with 24 or 12 dB slope and optional saturation/dirtiness, additional digital algorithms in the style of Nave, Largo, and PPG, and creative effects like Comb, Bitcrusher, Drive, RingMod, State Variable, and more.
The Dual Filter section can be controlled independently or together in link mode.
All three filters maintain the stereo signal throughout the path.
Integrated into the front panel, a 4x4 silicone pad matrix is ideal for playing notes, chords, arpeggios, and sequences with up to 32 steps of notes and parameters. Direct access to parameters is guaranteed by the seven encoders to the left and right of the touchscreen.
To facilitate functional correlations between knobs, each rotary element is individually illuminated by a multicolor LED. During editing, all correlated parameters are illuminated by the same color to allow for quick identification and efficient modification, even in the case of complex settings or intricate modulations.
With the help of the central display, precise modifications can be made with the same user experience as a tablet or a latest-generation computer.
WALDORF IRIDIUM was designed and developed in Germany by a dedicated Waldorf team. All main components were designed, manufactured, and assembled in Germany. This allowed for production with unparalleled build quality.
