The Warm Audio WA2A is an Opto (optical) tube compressor based on the legendary Teletronix LA2A, featuring Cinemag transformers on both input and output, Tung-Sol and Electro-Harmonix 2x 12ax7, 1x 12bh7, 1x 6aq5 tubes, and a fully discrete signal path. No plug-in or other type of processor can deliver the same warmth, the same "smooth" sound as a classic '2A-style optical compressor. For decades, this type of compressor has been the most sought after for processing vocals, bass, and many other types of instruments, thanks to its sweet and velvety character.
