During the golden age of tape recording, this style of vintage tube preamplifier became the signature sound of the signal chain for many hit recordings, including Elvis Presley, Les Paul, and Bing Crosby, and it is a sound still sought after by today's greatest artists. With premium components, circuit design faithful to the original, and tape saturation control, the WA-2MPX authentically reproduces all the analog flavor of the original to give your sound vintage warmth and color. The WA-2MPX is based on the 351-style tube preamplifier found on American tape machines that sparked the birth of rock 'n' roll and the biggest radio hits of the era. With an impressive 300V power and 90dB tube gain, the WA-2MPX can reach remarkable levels, capable of pushing the tubes into saturation just like the most iconic analog instruments. Premium components and hand assembly for an authentic vintage experience. Hand-assembled with three premium tubes per channel matched with custom-wound CineMag USA transformers faithful to the original specifications, the WA-2MPX authentically reproduces the analog sounds of the original. The WA-2MPX uses discrete analog components that provide compression, saturation, and non-linear frequency response for an authentic 15IPS reel-to-reel sound of the analog era. The 2kHz low-pass filter allows for further focusing and shaping of the sound, adding warmth and power to the midrange. The 80Hz high-pass filter helps remove unwanted low-end noise. Carefully inspected at Warm Audio's headquarters in Austin, Texas, by engineers and musicians trained with a passion to help you sound your best.
