The WARM AUDIO WA-84 NICKEL is a vintage small diaphragm condenser microphone, based on the original circuit topology. The WARM AUDIO WA-84 NICKEL features a fully discrete signal path, a CineMag USA transformer, Fairchild transistors, and Wima capacitors. The WARM AUDIO WA-84 NICKEL is designed for professional recording studios, home studios, live performances, and broadcast applications, and sounds great on a wide variety of instruments and sound sources such as electric/acoustic guitars, electric/acoustic basses, drums, pianos, strings, woodwinds, brass... as well as on combinations of multiple sources.
The WARM AUDIO WA-84 NICKEL has a very "large" sound, despite its small size, and uses CineMag nickel transformers in its signal path to reinforce and enhance all sound sources. Small diaphragm condenser microphones today use transformerless technologies to simplify work and reduce production costs. However, during the design of the WA-84, WARM chose to maintain old standards with a meticulous design renowned for its crystal-clear, sweet yet expansive sound.
