The WARM AUDIO WA273 is a "Desert Island" boutique 2-channel microphone preamplifier, but it can also be classified as a studio and live workhorse. Classic '73-style preamps are known for being versatile tools that work with all types of microphones from condensers, to dynamics, to ribbon microphones. The WARM AUDIO WA273 shines equally on all types of microphones and sources including; vocals, acoustic/electric guitars, bass, drums, percussion, orchestras, keyboards, and even as a tone-shaping tool for running partial or complete mixes through. With 80 dB of gain and a fully discrete Carnhill transformer-balanced signal path, there are no recording, mixing, or engineering tasks that the WARM AUDIO WA273 cannot handle.
Warm Audio worked closely with Carnhill Transformers of Cambridgeshire, UK, to faithfully reproduce the early transformers of the most sought-after vintage units.
The WARM AUDIO WA273 uses tantalum and polystyrene capacitors in the signal path and a choice of output transistors that are much smoother at high gain settings than what is typically found in modern '73-style preamps.
The WARM AUDIO WA273 is hand-wired and hand-assembled, including the PCB components.
