FET Compressor
The WA76-A faithfully reproduces one of the fastest and most powerful studio compressors of all time, known for its extra "grabby" attack, powerful dynamic control and unmistakable vintage analog grit. Using custom CineMag transformers and high-quality components, the WA76-A combines vintage "blue stripe" style compression with modern controls for parallel compression, true bypass and more.
Classic studio compression with true analog grit: The WA76-A is a faithful reproduction of the vintage 76 "blue stripe" FET studio compressor, with added features to meet modern recording workflows. Recreating the appreciated vintage "Blue Stripe" version, known for its fast attack and vintage analog grit, the WA76-A offers the ideal blend of vintage circuits and modern controls to deliver maximum flexibility without sacrificing analog character.
Classic controls and modern bonuses: WA76-A features vintage-designed circuitry and all traditional 76-style compression controls: attack, release, ratio, input, output and meter display. Additionally, it includes: stereo linking, dry/wet mix for parallel compression, external sidechain, selectable input impedance, active and true bypass, and variable high-pass filter to tame unruly bass.
Custom CineMag transformers: Just like in vintage 76-style compressors from "A" to "D" revisions, the WA76-A uses custom input and output CineMag transformers, which replicate the original period technical specifications and materials.
High-quality components and accurate Blue Stripe-style circuits: Includes premium poly-film capacitors, premium resistors and a preamplifier stage with vintage voice, delivering an authentic "blue stripe" style compression experience.
Hand-tested in Austin, Texas: Like all Warm Audio equipment, the WA76-A is meticulously tested and inspected by hand by skilled technicians in Austin, Texas (USA).
