The WiiM ULTRA is an audio preamplifier with streaming functions and a very high-performance internal DAC. It differs from the Pro and Pro Plus primarily due to its aluminum chassis (similar to the Amp's) which houses it and gives it a solid feel, and a 3.5” OLED touch display that shows all information about the music being played, selectable inputs, and some other service information. But many other innovations have been introduced, first and foremost the top-tier SABRE ESS9038 DAC, then Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity (with re-transmission capability to any BT device, such as headphones) and Wi-Fi 6E, HDMI ARC inputs with Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Atmos support, Phono MM input, and USB for memory devices. But the range of inputs doesn't stop there, as there are also an RCA line input and an optical input, while for outputs, in addition to RCA, a sub pre-out with bass-management, and an optical/coaxial output, as well as a trigger-out on a 3.5mm mini-jack. On the front panel, there is a headphone output, which is connected to a dedicated high-quality TPA6120A2 amplifier. But it doesn't end there, as only on the ULTRA is an automatic room calibration system included, which complements the equalizer already available on the app. Decoding capabilities go up to 32-bit/384kHz, and by leveraging the WiiM platform, the ULTRA can connect with major streaming services such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast Audio (CastLite), Alexa built-in, DLNA, Roon, and Squeezelite. Finally, the internal power supply is linear, to maximize performance.

Equalizer
The ability to personalize the audio experience is another innovative feature of the Ultra model. You can set a different equalization depending on the input: HDMI, optical, RCA, phono, Bluetooth, or network.
