The W-1200 is a double cassette deck featuring two one-way cassette recorders, mic mixing, a USB digital output, and other versatile recording functions. In recent years, cassettes have captivated those who have never used them, thanks to their warm and distinctly analog sound, not to mention the ease of recording and the ability to create personal compilations.
TEAC has decided to create a cassette recorder that combines an excellent level of performance with an interface suitable for the digital audio era. The W-1200 not only offers sound close to the original but also has a wide range of versatile services that allow you to sing in karaoke mode, record conference minutes, and even digitally record analog cassettes via a computer.
The two cassette players support recording and playback on each independently as they have independent drive mechanisms, meaning owners can record on both players simultaneously to create a pair of identical cassettes at the same time. And the microphone input and mixing allow you to practice singing karaoke to a cassette or an external sound source (via LINE IN).
TEAC's decades of experience in producing recording equipment are evident in the W-1200, particularly concerning the noise reduction system. It allows users to play old cassettes originally recorded with Dolby B NR and hear them correctly. In addition, the sound control allows you to change the playback speed as deemed appropriate, while the provided level meters allow fine adjustment of recording levels. A timer record/playback function is provided for use with a third-party audio timer.
Additionally, the W-1200 can send CD-quality digital audio (up to 48kHz/16-bit PCM) to a computer via a USB cable, allowing digital storage of your cassette library. After digitizing them on a computer, you can enjoy your old cassette music library anytime, anywhere via a network player, DAP, smartphone, or even in your car.
