Camden 500 is a clean, linear, and transparent preamp. But it also has a sonic character of its own: two custom discrete analog saturation circuits can be applied.
Clean, Precise, and Natural
Camden 500 offers maximum clarity and sonic detail. Its custom topology allows for incredible performance with low noise and minimal distortion: -129.8dB EIN (150ohm) and THD+N 0.0002%. Camden also sets a new standard for frequency and phase linearity: ±0.7dB frequency response from 5Hz to 200kHz at maximum gain, and <2° phase shift @ 50Hz-20kHz. The end result is an extremely natural-sounding preamp.
Vintage, Warm, and Colorful
The Camden 500 features "Mojo," a custom analog saturation circuit capable of transforming it into the warmest, most colorful, and fattest preamp in your arsenal. Designed to introduce the harmonics typical of the most famous vintage products, the "Mojo" parameter can be applied both subtly and aggressively (and can, of course, be bypassed).
Custom Topology
Thanks to a transformerless topology with 68.5dB of gain, the Camden 500 provides incredible performance in terms of noise, distortion, frequency response, and phase shift across all 12 gain positions.
Three-Way Input Switch
The appropriate input impedance and headroom for Microphone, Line, and high-impedance sources allow for full-range and powerful recordings with +26.5dBu input, as well as a lively and natural D.I. sound with its unique BJT design and 1.5M Ohm input impedance.
