• Source Selection: Dedicated switches are available for source selection for each 500 slot to decide the signal path and send analog, C.A.S.T. or USB sources through the 500 modules.
• Sufficient I/O for Any Hardware: The 500R8 can be integrated with any analog or digital hardware, for example, by connecting it to your converter or integrating it with other rack units using the dedicated TRS inserts on the slots.
• No Modules? No Problem!: By bypassing unused 500 slots, you can still use all available inputs for recording while waiting to fill the chassis with other modules.

• If you need more recording channels on the 500R8, using a 500ADAT will help. Connect the 500R8 and 500ADAT via the ADAT ports to have 16 channels of 500 modules to work with during both recording and mixing. Although the 500ADAT offers the same performance as the 500R8, any third-party ADAT expander is compatible.

• Receive Audio from C.A.S.T.
• Connect the 500R8 to N22/N22H breakout boxes using a shielded Cat5 cable to send microphone and line sources over distances of 100 meters, directly to the module inputs.
• Transmit Audio to C.A.S.T.
• Via the same Cat5 connection, you can carry the 500R8's monitor mix (including talkback) via C.A.S.T. directly to musicians with zero latency.

• Housed in 4U, with a 19" rack-mountable steel chassis, the 500R8 is also perfect for mobile recording. Cranborne has thought of everything, including ears to support different mounting methods. You can insert the 500R8 into a rack to protect its front panel during travel; you can also take the ears and re-orient them to make it a hand-portable unit.
