LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 is an analog dynamic processor, which depending on the settings can operate as a compressor, limiter or harmonic distortion generator. It has been designed to create original, vivid and analog sound for instruments.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 is equipped with an intuitive and easy to use control panel, which deliberately eliminates input/output meters or sound reduction indicators, so that you can concentrate solely on the sound and not on the sight.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 is a creative device that gives the sound a powerful analog character. LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 uniquely enhances the perceived volume, warms and brightens the audio signal, depending on the DRIVE settings.
The heart of LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 is an FET transistor responsible for sound reduction and the introduction of a small amount of low-order harmonics, and its design is inspired by transistor limiters and compressors from the 60s. In addition, LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 includes many original solutions derived from Looptrotter's long-term experience in building dynamic processors, which ensures a unique sound.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 is equipped with two independently operating filters integrated into the control circuit. This gives the possibility to create the timbre without unpleasant phase shifts: in case of low-frequency cutting in the control signal, LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 acts more transparently and naturally with signals rich in low frequencies such as the kick drum or bass. This can reduce low-frequency distortion and the pumping effect; while boosting high frequencies in the control signal, LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 behaves like an analog de-esser, or a very fast compressor for bright and dynamic instruments.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 offers three factory attack/release presets:
- FAST - the fastest attack and release setting of the processor makes LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 operate as a limiter. This preset offers rich and dense input signal saturation;
- MED: this preset allows LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 to operate as a fast compressor;
- SLOW: this preset makes LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 more like an analog compressor than a limiter.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 also has independent control over the DRY and WET signal. This allows you to decide whether the audio tracks only need a slight coloration, preserving the original dynamics, or whether the signal needs to be run through LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR 500 100%.
