The LOOPTROTTER SAT 500 is a single-channel 500 series module with a saturation circuit that adds low-order harmonics and smoothes the signal, all in an extraordinarily musical and intuitive way. It can significantly increase the RMS level. The sound refers to old mixing consoles and tape recorders. The LOOPTROTTER SAT 500 features unique solutions that shape the harmonic content in the processed signal. The LO SAFE option activates the pre-emphasis and de-emphasis circuit, "protecting" lower frequencies from distortion. This option is particularly useful for instruments with high low-frequency content, such as bass, drums, drum groups, or the entire mix. The BAND SPLIT option divides the signal band into two frequency ranges. This solution allows only the low frequencies, below the split point, to be saturated. The high frequencies above the split point are mixed with the saturated signal in an unaltered form. This option is perfect for "thickening" the sound of instruments without audible saturation of high frequencies. There are three split point frequencies to choose from: 800Hz, 2kHz, and 6kHz. The saturation depth is seamlessly controlled with the DRIVE knob. The LOOPTROTTER SAT 500 has independent control over the DRY and WET signals. The saturation depth (the amount of added harmonics) is indicated by two LEDs, which light up at 4 and 8% THD.
